Don’t Want Wrinkles? …Whatever you do DON’T SMOKE!

Smoker

This is a picture taken of  identical twins both 59 years of age.

The woman on the left was a smoker whereas her sister on the right never smoked. Notice the difference in their skin?

Smoking will accelerate you’re ageing process rapidly. Why? Apart from poor Vitamin A production there is also something called free radical damage which creates OXIDATIVE STRESS on the body. What does that mean? You pollute your body and it will erode fast!

Another important anti-ageing function that smoking interferes with is Vitamin C production. Why is this so important when it comes to Anti-Ageing? Vitamin C is a major contributor to collagen synthesis. Collagen is the substance in your skin that keeps your skin looking firm and plump. Once it starts to break down your collagen does the same thing and yes you start to age-fast.

Finally, and not less importantly Carbon Monoxide which is one of the lovely gases you’ll inhale each time you take a puff of your cigarette is one of the only molecules that are able to take the place of the oxygen molecule on your red blood cells. Yes just the same way you have your own parking spot at home, oxygen has its own parking space on a red blood cell. Red blood cells being the very substance that sends oxygenated blood to all your vital organs including your brain. Yep, carbon monoxide simply takes the spot of oxygen and sends toxic deoxygenated blood around your body and to all of your vital organs-including your brain.

How to fix or prevent this damage?

ANTIOXIDANTS!!! Oh…and stop smoking!

Give your body, and your skin the gift of health.

Pigmentation: triggers and treatments

What is Pigmentation?

Pigmentation is where the Melanocytes become overstimulated. Melanocytes are the skin cells which give our skin colour. The darker areas are Melasma and the lighter areas are called decolorations. Although these make up the skins pigmentation, they have to be treated differently. The lighter areas on our skin (decolarations) mean that our skin is not producing enough Melanocytes. The darker areas of our skin (Melasma) indicates the opposite, that our skin is producing too much Melanocytes.

bf96177ca9cf4f234ff7cdb6b1c1399f523c8b4a_m

Hyper-pigmentation can be the result of many factors, external or internal. The internal causes can be certain illnesses such as Edisons disease and some hepatic (liver) problems. Hormonal changes such as menopause and pregnancy, along with certain vitamin and mineral deficits are another cause of hyper-pigmentation.External factors such as exposure to sun and the use of some products that irritate the skin or cause skin photosensitivity can aggravate the problem. Cosmetics or fragrances containing alcohol compounded with exposure of your skin to the sun-increases your risk. Alcohol + sun = irritation and risk of developing hyper-pigmentation, so you should always use a suitable sun-block.

 How do I treat Hyper-pigmentation?

  • Hydroxy acids-Alpha hydroxy acids facilitate the shedding of dead skin cells and may even stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. They are found naturally as follows:
  1. Lactic Acid (Milk)
  2. Glycolic acid (sugar cane).
  3. Malic acid (found in apples and pears).
  4. Citric acid (oranges and lemons).
  5. Tartaric acids (grapes).
  • Vitamin C- or ascorbic acid, is a very potent antioxidant. Most studies on the effects of antioxidants on the skin have used this vitamin. In laboratory studies, large amounts of vitamin C reduced skin swelling and protected immune factors from sunlight. Vitamin C may even promote collagen production.
  •  Intense pulsed light – Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) pulses uses wavelengths of heated light which are directly aimed at the pigmented spots. The advantages of this technology include the fact that the pigment is able to be targeted precisely without damaging surrounding tissue. Skin pigmentation in the face, neck, chest and hands can be treated safely and effectively.

The light energy is gently delivered to the skin in pulses, through a delicate, computer-controlled handpiece. After your IPL treatment, the skin pigmentation or sun spots will gradually fade and slowly disappear, however in some instances the pigment may appear darker as it heals itself whilst in other cases it can flake up in a bid to eliminate the pigment in an external scab form.

The added benefit of the Palomar IPL Technology is that is also works to activate cells in the skin called fibroblasts which stimulate collagen remodeling and new collagen production. Effectively, this helps to rejuvenate the skin, improving its texture, visibly minimising pores and reducing superficial fine lines and wrinkles to reveal a more youthfully hydrated appearance.

  • Microdermabrasion-the resurfacing effect of microdermabrasion can achieve the following:
  1. Removal of abnormal tissue and rough skin
  2. Stimulation of new skin growth
  3. Stimulation of collagen and elastin production

Secrets of The Best Body Moisturizer Creams Revealed

Posted by admin on January 26th, 2010 — Posted in Revitol

When it comes to finding the best body moisturizer, it all comes down to the quality, amount and blend of the ingredients used. It is hard to find one without harmful chemicals and with enough of the right ingredients to help moisturize your skin properly. Here is a guide to the ones that really work.

It is sensible to start with what to avoid, which is basically 99% of all body moisturizing creams! Now bear with me while I explain.

These 99% use harmful chemicals like mineral oil (paraffin wax, petrolatum), parabens (methyl, propyl) and fragrances which could be any number of thousands of chemicals are present, and also dioxane, known to the state of California to cause cancer.

Even the ones labeled natural and organic will contain these chemicals as well, so check the labels carefully.

The best body moisturizer will contain no harmful chemicals and optimal amounts of the right rich plant oils, plant-and-vitamin-based antioxidants, essential fatty acids and lipids.

Exceptional ingredients are Phytessence wakame, CoQ10, Cynergy TK, Avocado and Macadamia oils, Manuka honey and Allantoin.

These can deliver essential antioxidants and nutrients to keep your skin in the best of health and moisturize deep down through all the layers of the skin to revitalize and rejuvenate it from the inside out.

They are able to nourish and protect your skin from everday pollution without blocking the pores like mineral oils do and which can prevent the correct elimination of toxins.

The powerful antioxidants mean they help to fight free radicals which damage healthy skin and lead to disease and premature aging.

It is essential that body moisturizing creams contain enough of these special ingredients to be effective and not use them just for advertizing purposes. In the right amounts they can have a dramatic effect and help to improve your overall health and well-being too.

You can expect any fine lines and wrinkles to gradually fade away and if you are lucky enough not to have any yet, they will help keep your skin that way!

The best body moisturizer is not available in your regular shops but from specialist online skin care companies that can deliver to your door.

What The Best Natural Face Moisturizer Cream Should Contain

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 — Posted in Revitol

  Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Finding your way to the best natural face moisturizer creams can be quite a task considering the amount of products to choose from. There are certain proven ingredients to look for that can reduce that amount to just a handful.

What a natural moisturizer should not contain are any harmful chemicals but unfortunately the majority do. They are even present in the organic ranges and can strip your skin of natural oils and cause allergic reactions and rashes.

A natural face moisturizer should contain ample amounts of the right natural extracts, vitamins and minerals to be able to nourish deep down and maintain healthy skin.

Many products advertise the latest “magic” ingredient heavily but only put in a tiny amount, hardly enough to be of any benefit at all.

Many oils act as a natural moisturizer including Grapeseed, Avocado and Macadamia as they are close to your skins own oils and help to form a protective barrier to keep out everyday pollution, dirt and grime but still allow the skin to breathe.

One of the best ingredients is called Cynergy TK and comes from sheep’s wool would you believe! This can stimulate your body to make more collagen which provides more elasticity for younger looking skin and also contains powerful antioxidants that can help fight the free radicals and keep your skin in top condition.

It makes for a wonderful moisturizing ingredient and when combined with others like Phytessence wakame, Babassu wax and active Manuka honey you have all you need for a natural moisturizer that fades any lines or wrinkles and prevents them from returning.

Although you may not be familiar with these ingredients, they represent some of the best you can get and are proven in clinical trials to work very effectively. They are only available from specialist online skincare companies at present as they haven’t filtered into the mainstream.

As a natural face moisturizer is one of the most important parts of your skin care regime, it is essential to use one that will look after your skin in the years to come and these ingredients will make that a reality.

The Sugar Heel Gang: using a sugar spa treatment to heal your cracked and dry heels

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 — Posted in Revitol

  Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

A ten minute sugar scrub spa treatment can turn those callused and cracked heels  into soft and supple tootsies and help you relax the stress away as you massage your feet. Sugar scrubs contain alpha hydroxyl acids that can help dissolve away the dead, dry skin and polish your feet until they come out soft, smooth and supple. Sugar is a powerful exfoliate that can bring your feet back from the point of no return. Treating yourself to nice foot massage can also help you relax, relieving you from the stress that comes along with modern living leaving you feeling refreshed and relaxed.

In as little as ten minutes, you will be getting “on the good foot” and feel as though “Papa’s got a brand new bag” with great looking feet that you will be proud to show off to anyone who cares to see them. This foot treatment is just as relaxing and rejuvenating for men as it is for women helping your feet feel more comfortable as you rid yourself of all of that hard, dry skin.

What you need:

A natural sugar scrub

It is best to find an all natural sugar scrub that contains granulated or cane sugar along with a foaming soap cleanser that can help soften and polish the feet. Only a scrub that contains pure sugar will have the all important alpha hydroxyl acid which will help dissolve the dry, hardened flaky skin.

A good moisturizer

A rich body butter or cream made from natural oils is the best type of moisturizer for your feet. Shea Butter, olive oil, soybean oil or sunflower oils are the best types of oil bases to look for. Good natural based oils will fully absorb into your skin and help condition your feet to prevent further drying out.

How to bring your feet back from the dead

First: Exfoliate

Take a good quarter sized dap of sugar scrub and with a little water, massage it into your feet working it into a creamy lather. Massage your feet for about two minutes.

Next: Rinse

Make sure to get all the foamy lather off

Third: Dry

Use a towel to thoroughly dry your feet

Now: Moisturize

Massage your body butter or cream of choice into your feet, letting them soak up the moisture. Moisturizing is important after exfoliation in order to keep your skin from drying out too quickly.

Hopefully this treatment will help turn your dry, cracked feet into something much more presentable. Depending how bad your cracked heels are, a good sugar scrub followed by a heaping helping of moisturizer should help cure your problem after several applications. Be sure to keep it up twice a week until your feet feel smooth, soft and supple.

Natural and Healthy Wart Cures

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 — Posted in Revitol

  Tags: , , , ,

A fact that not many people dealing with their warts realize is that there are several cures that really work. An equally little-known fact is that most common wart removal measures are simply more of short-term patches to a long-term problem. Dealing with warts demands that you look at the problem for what it is instead of merely the symptoms or outward appearances.

A typical wart removal effort goes like this. You walk into your doctor’s office and ask him or her to cure your warts. The doctor takes a long cotton swab, dips it into dry ice and firmly presses it over your wart. The area on which the cotton swab is pressed starts sizzling with an intense burning sensation, and the procedure turns out to be rather painful. The wart then falls off only several days later. Yet, hardly a few weeks after your doctor has ‘frozen’ your warts, you see them coming up again! The problem with this approach was that it wasn’t a cure in the real sense at all. This is not to discourage you, but to emphasize the fact that there are multiple effective ways to deal with warts that address the root problem rather than mere symptoms.

If you want a permanent solution to the problem of warts, you will need to ensure that not only are your warts removed, but also your skin is treated in a way that makes it less susceptible or less prone to breed warts again. Common effective cures for warts involve ingredients like aloe vera and salicylic acid as these are strong enough to rid your skin of warts while being harmless to the unaffected areas of your skin. You will obviously need professional help in your battle against your warts, but you should remember that there is no reason to despair.

And, an easy and natural method to Get Rid of Warts in 3 days can be found on my site. Click here to find out how YOU can free yourself from your warts without wasting your hard-earned money on useless over-the-counter products or expensive surgical procedures.

Should You Be Using a Hydrating Mask?

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 — Posted in Revitol

  Tags: , , , , , ,

If you are wondering why you should use a hydrating mask on your skin, you may have seen some of the new products on the market.  The ones that contain macadamia oil are among the most luxurious.  Here’s a look at the benefits to men and women, how the masks are to be used and how often.  But, first, let’s look at a little background info.

Skin Moisture Importance

The skin’s moisture content is directly related to its appearance as it ages.  People with excessive dryness have a lot of sagging.  They lose firmness and look older, in general.

Skin Firmness

Practically everyone loses some firmness, as they age, because of decreased collagen production and low levels of hyaluronic acid.  But, people who have problems with excessive dryness lose even more firmness, tone and elasticity, as the years roll by.

A large number of products on the market are designed to improve the skin’s firmness and elasticity, as well as its moisture content.  Some of these are supposed to have an immediate effect, but that’s doubtful.  If you are looking for immediate benefits, that might not be why you should use a hydrating mask, unless your skin is very dry.

If the masks make a big difference in your appearance right away, it is because of moisturizers like macadamia oil.  They are quickly and readily absorbed into your skin’s cells and layers, leaving nothing behind, except softer looking skin.

But, usually, it takes a little time to see an improvement in firmness.  The better masks are designed to be used on a bi-weekly basis.  You might see some improvement right away, but you should see more and more as time goes by.

Why You Should Use a Hydrating Mask

Here’s why you should use a hydrating mask if you are a man that shaves.  The ingredients in some of the better ones have natural anti-inflammatory activity, which will reduce facial redness and help protect the elastic fibers from the damage that inflammation can do.  Chronic inflammation causes the deterioration of collagen fibers.

If you are a woman, you might not have a problem with inflammation, but you could have a problem with dryness caused by exposure to the elements or with exposure to environmental toxins.  The good masks will help protect you from the elements and give your skin the tools that it needs to repair damage that has already been done.

Men – You Also Need a Hydrating Mask

So, whether you are a man or a woman, there are good reasons why you should use a hydrating mask.  You don’t have to pay a fortune to get the best quality.  You just have to do a little comparative shopping.

You only need to use it about twice a month, unless you are having a bad problem with dry skin.  Some people, during the winter, find that using the masks every 10 days, rather than every two weeks helps a lot.

As far as application, it’s simple.  You apply a light layer with your fingertips.  Wait 20-30 minutes and wipe off any excess with a tissue.  If your skin is very dry, there might not be any excess.

So, that’s why you should use a hydrating mask and how you should use it.  Just check out the ingredients, before you buy.

And now please visit the XtendSkinCare website listed below for updated information on how and why you should use a hydrating mask.

And now I would like to invite you to visit http://www.XtendSkinCare.com for FREE Instant Access to a more information on How Using a Hydrating Mask Will Give Your Skin a New Look.

Skin Tags – An Inconvenience For Many People

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 — Posted in Revitol

Do you have small growths known as skin tags? If so you will know that they are harmless and do not pose any health risks, but that they can be an inconvenience. Depending on where they are on your body they can go largely unnoticed and never trouble you at all. If however they are in the wrong place, they can become very sore or you may feel that they can affect you negatively in other ways.

Soreness can be caused when skin tags are in places where they may easily rub on your clothes, for example on your collar line or beneath a strap. They may also be in other inconvenient areas such as on your face or in intimate areas. This is when skin tags can be come unpleasant or even embarrassing, which can cause you to hide away from other people, feeling ashamed or inadequate. Thankfully, there are treatments that you can use in the comfort of your own home, to remove the tags permanently and painlessly if you do feel that removing them would improve your life.

The World Wide Web is the source of much advice on the removal of skin tags. The advice that can be found includes snipping them off with scissors. This is not a good idea though, as it can result in profuse bleeding and even permanent scarring. There are also many other ways that you can read about on the internet some of which are unusual. Whichever way you choose to do it, you need to find the best way to remove the tags safely and without the risk of being scarred.

And, an easy and natural method to Get Rid of Skin Tags in 3 days can be found on my site. Click here to find out how YOU can free yourself from your skin tags without wasting your hard-earned money on useless over-the-counter products or expensive surgical procedures.

Surgical Mole Removal – Not an Effective Solution

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 — Posted in Revitol

  Tags: , , , , , ,

An obvious and unsightly mole can make us feel unattractive and ashamed. We may go out of our way to disguise it or cover it and we may even be prepared to go to extreme lengths to remove it.

When deciding on the best way to remove a mole from their skin, many people would first consult a doctor. This is particularly true if the mole becomes sore, which is a common when moles are ignored and left on the skin for too long.

Your preference may be for the mole to be removed but doctors are often reluctant to do this and will not do so unless the growth is cancerous. The doctor will instead treat the soreness of the mole and provide medication to help it to heal up without infection.

However, many natural treatments are now available and doctors can in fact use modern technology to remove moles when they chose to do so. However such procedures are very painful and will cause you a lot of discomfort. They may not be effective and the moles may return in a few months either to their original location or nearby.

This is because moles are often deep rooted and extend deep into the skin. Due to the fact that they are not just a mark that is on the surface, many medical treatments will not work as they do not deal with the whole problem. However if the roots of the mole can be targeted and removed then the moles will be dealt with permanently, and will never return.

And, an easy and natural method to Get Rid of Moles in 3 days can be found on my site. Click here to find out how YOU can free yourself from your moles without wasting your hard-earned money on useless over-the-counter products or expensive surgical procedures.
