The ABC’s Of Stretch Marks

Stretch marks, as the name suggests, are crack like lines that form on the skin. When skin is tight or lagging, the weight or pressure causes it to stretch further than it should. The connective tissue becomes damaged, and small tears form the lines we are referring to.

Who do they Affect?

Men and women both suffer from them, and most women get some after pregnancy. The most common reason for stretch marks appearing is after a person either loses weight or puts weight on over a short time. As all women do this when pregnant, a high percentage will have them. The areas affected most often are the breasts, hips, arms, thighs and abdomen.

Many people who have them become ashamed of their bodies. They are reluctant to wear swimmers or anything that reveals the lines. The problem with stretch marks is that you usually don’t know they are forming until it’s too late, and you suddenly have them.

Hormones can also affect the likelihood of stretch marks. This is why some teenagers will discover them during puberty, especially if their weight has fluctuated. Certain pharmaceuticals can contribute as well, such as steroids or the pill, bad diet or anxiety disorders.

Over the Counter Products

You can purchase any number of products for helping with your problem. Some stretch marks are light in color and easier to treat, where others can be pink, red or even purple and very raised and lumpy. The latter is much harder to repair, so do your research before handing over a fortune. There are people who swear by some of the brands on the market today, and some are guaranteed to at least make them fade. There are also excellent creams to maintain skin elasticity for preventing them in the first place.

Avoid caffeine and keep up the water intake, ensuring you drink at least eight glasses a day. You need a diet full of adequate vitamins and minerals, and exercise regularly to keep your skin toned. If you want to lose weight, you are better off doing it gradually.

Treatment Options

If you treat your stretch marks sooner rather than later, your chances of success are much higher. There are creams, beauty treatments, scrubs and laser therapy which all have their fans. Retin-A is one that can be used on darker lines with positive results, as long as they haven’t been there for more than twelve months. There is also microderm abrasion, but it can hurt and is expensive. Although Lasers are very efficient, you can spend thousands on treatments and they can be such agony some people need anesthesia to get through.

There really are no guaranteed treatments for stretch marks. With the right product used the right way, along with diet, exercise and hydration, you should be able to make them fade. With so many people hiding theirs, you certainly shouldn’t be ashamed. They are a natural part of life, so look at them more like signs of experience and maturity.

Do Treatments Work?

You can purchase any number of products for helping with your stretch mark problem. Some are light in color and easier to treat, where others can be pink, red or even purple and very raised and lumpy. The latter is much harder to repair, and laser treatment may be the only option. There are people who swear by some of the treatments on the market, and some are guaranteed to at least make them fade. There are also excellent creams to maintain skin elasticity for preventing them in the first place.

Summary:

People who drop pounds rapidly or vice versa will often get stretch marks. These marks are like cracks made from scar tissue, and are actually signs of the connective skin tissue having been damaged. There are many treatments on the market you can try, some more affordable than others.

Things You Should Know Before Using Acne Cream

Acne is a skin problem that most men and women battle with. It is perhaps one of the most common skin conditions and hence there are hundreds of skin care products in the market that claim that they can help you combat this problem. Acne cream is one such product. Even in this domain, there are creams and more creams. So how do you as a consumer decide on which cream to buy? They all promise the same thing claiming that their ingredients are better than the rest. If you do not know how to choose your cream, you could land up like a lot of people who try cream after cream without achieving any results. Once you know what a cream that fights acne should contain, you will be able to choose your product without too much trouble.

Chemical vs. natural creams

If you are looking for an acne cream, you should first decide on whether you want a natural cream or a chemical cream. If you opt for the natural cream, then you should make sure that your choice of cream contains green tea. Green tea is the only real natural ingredient in creams that can help with pimple prone skin. It purifies the skin, gets rid of blemishes and prevents your skin from breaking out further. If you choose to opt for a chemical cream, then you will probably have a wider variety to choose from. There are many leading brands in the market that claim that they have the best creams. Which one you decide on, you should first be aware of the fact that these creams do not work by themselves. They are a part of three step process. Cleansing, toning and repairing. Here’s how it works:

Cleansing

Step one of the process of using an acne cream is cleansing. The cleanser that you use should also contain gentle exfoliating particles in order to be able to work effectively. Exfoliating particles not only help get rid of the dirt from your skin but they also help to get rid of dead cells, thereby making the skin look healthier and more alive.

Toning

Step two of the acne cream process is toning. You must remember that the toner that you choose to use should first of all be free from alcohol. The sole purpose of using a toner is to get rid of dead skin cells and to unclog the pores. In addition to this, use of a toner also improves the general well being of your skin.

Repairing

Repairing is the final step in the 3 step routine when you are using acne cream to combat acne. A repairing lotion does exactly what it says, it repairs. It helps heal the skin by getting rid of blemishes and blackheads. A good repair lotion will always be light and oil free. It will also help in preventing your skin from breaking out into further eruptions. Because of the fact that it is light and oil free, a good repairing lotion will be comfortable to wear as well without making your skin look shiny.

Acne cream is the preferred Acne Free Treatment method for a lot of people. For more tips on how to choose one that really works, click on http://www.skinacneremedytreatmentproduct.com to find out.

How to Prevent Stretch Marks-Your Ultimate Guide

Although commonly known as a cosmetic concern, stretch marks are harmless and even fade over time usually; they do not require medical treatment unless desired as well. If you do seek preventative measures for stretch marks, know that they are only partially effective and might not remove the stretch marks completely.

The following creams and laser treatments are available to help prevent the appearance of stretch marks:

•    Tretinoin cream – tretinoin cream (Retin-A, Renova) is to prevent the appearance of recent stretch marks – those less than six weeks old and still pink or red in color. Tretinoin should NOT be used during pregnancy. Tretinoin, when it works, helps to rebuild collagen, making the stretch mark more similar in appearance to your normal skin. This treatment isn’t effective on older stretch marks unfortunately.

•    Pulsed dye laser therapy – Used at wavelengths of light that are non-wounding, this type of laser therapy remodels underlying skin (dermis) by stimulating the growth of collagen and elastins (which keeps the skin supple and firm). Pulsed dye laser therapy is most effective when stretch marks are new but can still be effective on older stretch marks as well.

•    Fractional photothermolysis – Like pulsed dye laser therapy, this laser treatment uses wavelengths of light to stimulate new growth of collagen and elastins. The difference is that it causes partial damage to small areas within a specific targeted zone. Because most of the treated area is then undamaged, the skin heals quickly, as if the entire area were treated.

•    Microdermabrasion – This type of treatment involves a hand-held device that blows crystals onto skin. These crystals gently scrub or “polish” the skin’s surface. A vacuum tube then removes the crystals and skin cells. This gently removes the skin’s top layer, which may result in new skin growth that is more elastic and firm. This therapy is an option for older stretch marks, and one of the most effective and successful.

•    Excimer laser – The excimer laser does nothing for collagen or elastins growth. Instead, its aim is to stimulate melanin production. If it works, the old and lighter streaks become similar in color to the rest of the skin, and therefore less visible. This is used for older stretch marks (usually).
If one wants to go the natural route:

It has also been proven that stretch marks can be prevented by the simplest task of ensuring that we are properly hydrated and drinking enough water! In order to remain properly hydrated, you must be certain to consume copious amounts of water on a daily basis. Not necessarily the traditional 8 at one time to get it out the way (though that can work) but instead making it a daily and enjoyable ritual to upload throughout life. Our world is surrounded by it. It’s a part of our daily lives, so why not drink up? While many medical professionals state that we should consume the “8 glasses a day”, many other professionals are now starting to say that it is important to consume at least 10 to 12 glasses a day. I think it’s best to set a goal in between those numbers, and see what’s best for you.

Anti Aging Skin Care Products – Can They Make You Look Younger?

If you are like a lot of women over 30, you are possibly starting to worry about the dreaded w-word – wrinkles. With the abundance of anti aging skin care products on the market, you have to ask yourself if there is any truth to what these products say they can do. Customer testimonials and a myriad of clinical studies have shown that yes, indeed, anti aging products can work, but ultimately you must decide for yourself. What are they purported to do, exactly?

Anti aging products come in several different formulas – creams and lotions being the most popular. In addition to revitalizing your skin and reducing the signs of aging, a lot of products purportedly stimulate the renewal of skin cells, reduce under eye circles, hydrate skin, and smooth rough texture all while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles! Revitol Complete is but one of many products that boats the ability to dramatically reduce the signs of aging, revealing a radiant, younger you! Royal Gold Anti-Wrinkle Serum in another product claiming to reduce wrinkles while leaving your skin fresh and hydrated. These are but a few of the many products available for older skin, so go ahead and look around to see what works best for you.

Once upon a time, these products were available only by prescription from a licensed dermatologist. Now, that’s obviously not the case and what was once prescription-only has now become mass-market; the reason being now they are made with all natural and safe ingredients. Typically, it can take up to 30 days for one to see results with these products. Some boast results in as little as two weeks, but in general you should wait about a month before you see any significant improvement.

Most skin care products designed for older skin have some basics in common. They all have one, or a combination of, the following ingredients. Alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, argireline, Shea butter, and Edelweiss extract. Vitamin A, primrose oil and others can also be included, designed to give your skin the youthful and radiant glow it once had. Generally, after four to six weeks of continued use, you can see a dramatic improvement in your skin, possibly looking up to ten years younger than you did before! Sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it? Of course, results are not typical and will vary depending on the individual. The bottom line is many people have seen promising results with these products, and the potential is there for you to, as well.

Avoiding the sun, quitting smoking, moisturizing daily, exercising and eating a healthy, balanced diet are all ways to minimize the appearance of wrinkles. In combination with these methods, using an anti-wrinkle cream will surely help to combat the signs of aging, and will be more effective when used with the methods listed above. Everyone wants younger looking skin, and there’s no reason why you can’t have it!

Why Do You Have Stretch Marks?

Before we even know what a stretch mark is, we hear people complaining about them. They are marks on the skin caused by stretching, and can be light in color, purple or pink. It is very common to get them during pregnancy, as they are usually the result of quickly gaining or losing weight.

Where do they appear?

Stretch marks are often prominent in the buttocks, breasts, thighs, hips and arm areas. They also appear on men, and effect people of any age. There is also a genetic factor which can be involved, as well as diet and hydration levels. Skin needs certain vitamins and nutrients, and if your diet isn’t adequate your skin wont be as resilient.

Why do they appear?

Basically if your skin is low in elastin or collagen, you will be more prone to having them appear. If someone is losing weight quickly and not doing an appropriate amount of exercise, the tissue stretches and breaks, resulting in crack like lines. If you do sufficient exercise then the skin will more likely tighten without stretching.

Although it has never been proven, some people believe that skin tone or color effects predisposition to stretch marks. Those who think this way say the fairer the complexion, the less resilient the skin. Although very costly, laser surgery is available to repair their damage.

What can you do about them?

If you visit your local drug store, you will be overwhelmed by the number of creams and micro-beaded gels there are claiming they can heal tell tale signs of stretching. Do your research before rushing in to buy one which may not have proven results.

You want a cream that has the right ingredients. Popular stretch mark cream should have vitamin E, collagen and possibly cocoa butter. There are many devoted users of these methods who claim it really works.

Why not ask your chemist if they have some samples? Although most products require longer term application, you can still test your skins reaction to it and get a feel for the different ingredients.

Who gets them and where?

Stretch marks are often prominent in the buttocks, breasts, thighs, hips and arm areas. They also appear on men, and effect people of any age. There is a genetic factor involved, as well as your diet and hydration levels. Skin needs certain vitamins and nutrients, and if your diet isn’t adequate your skin wont be as resilient. They affect people with all complexions, in all countries around the globe.

Summary:

Not many people find stretch marks attractive, and there has been an ongoing search for a solution through the ages. Expensive laser treatment does repair damage, and many people are fans of the creams and gels on the market. To try and prevent getting stretch marks, drink plenty of water and make sure you have adequate vitamin and mineral intake.

Is Revitol hair cream safe for male pubic hair removal?

Shaving my jewels is becoming a pain, I want something quicker.

Hair removal cream for men

A number of cosmetic companies have added hair removal cream for men to their list of products.  Why?  There is a huge amount of money to be made catering to the growing number of men interested in male grooming.

In the old days, it was sufficient for a man to shave every once in a while. The view was that a real man did not spend a lot of time making themselves look pretty! That was left to the women.

But times have changed and now men are spending more money on cosmetics, jewelry and clothes in a bid to look their best.    Most of the cosmetic giants spend a fortune to have famous male sport stars endorse their products.

There are various brands available including Revitol, Veet, Nair etc but essentially they all work in a similar fashion.  You apply the cream to the area of skin you wish to treat and leave it in place for as long as the instructions state.  This is usually less than ten minutes.

Hair is made up of various things including a form of protein so the depilatory creams work by dissolving this protein.  This causes the hair to break at skin level when you use a spatula to remove the cream. You can work without the spatula but your results will be less satisfactory.

You do need to read the instructions carefully even if you have used other male hair removal creams before.  There may be slight differences in the chemical makeup of the product and this will determine how long it is safe to leave the product on your skin before it becomes irritated. It is also very important to only apply the cream where it is designed to go.

If you wish to remove genital hair, the product must be suitable for this purpose.  The skin on certain areas of your body is likely to be more sensitive than that on your face or arms for example.

You should never use this form of treatment if you have open cuts or your skin is irritated in any way as it could lead to a severe reaction.  Using a male hair removal cream is probably not advisable if you suffer from acne when electrolysis would be more appropriate.

Do not leave the cream on for longer than advised as again this can result in unpleasant or painful rashes.

You should do a patch skin test on a small area first following the instructions.  Wait for at least 24 hours before applying cream to a larger area to make sure you are not allergic to the product.

By far the hair removal cream market leading cream is Revitol’s hair removal cream. There 100% natural hair removal product is the best. Because it does what is says it is going to do. It is both extremely effective in removing hair and is very cost efficient. While being priced better then it’s competitors, Revitol’s cream is formulated to make the hair folicals less dense and gow back slower with regular use. Thus saving you money. So if you the market leader then pick Revitol’s hair removal cream

Is Natural Topical Creams the Best Dry Skin Cure?

With so many natural topical creams for dry skin available, the real problem isn’t finding one; it’s finding one that is effective and a good value for money.

Dry skin can appear anywhere: on our hands, legs, and perhaps worst of all, our face. Nobody likes to suffer from unsightly, itchy dry skin, but when it’s on your face, it’s nearly impossible to conceal.

To make matters worse, many people may suffer from oily patches on their face in one location, while it’s dry in another. There is a term for this type of variation: it’s called combination skin.

Whether you suffer from dry skin on your face or other parts of your body, the best creams for getting rid of dry skin are going to contain hydrating ingredients that are proven to be effective.

Let’s talk about the face first.

In quality products you may find such ingredients as Manuka honey, and oils like avocado and macadamia. When applied and left on, such ingredients can penetrate deeply into the layers of your skin and produce a powerful hydrating effect.

It’s important to know that not all natural topical creams for dry skin are actually good for your skin, no matter what the label says. For example, let’s take oils. Although some natural oils are soothing and hydrating to the skin, like the ones mentioned above, there are some commonly used oils that are actually terrible for the long term health, appearance, and hydration of your skin.

One of these is the culprit mineral oil. This oil actually makes your skin dependent on it. So it may seem like it’s working initially but if you ever stop trying to use it, your skin actually becomes drier than before you ever started using it!

Worse, these kinds of oils are not hypoallergenic. They can lead to skin irritations, and clog pores so your skin cannot naturally breathe. Clogging of pores can lead to acne flare-ups, even if you are well beyond your teenage years.

This is why it’s so important to carefully research creams for getting rid of dry skin. Your skin is your body’s largest organ and it makes sense to really know what you’re putting on it.

If you suffer from dry skin on your arms, back, hands, etc., you want to look for an ingredient called phytessence wakame. This is a variety of kelp, native to the Japanese Sea.

If there is a secret in Japan for youthful, supple, pliant, and touchably soft skin, phytessence wakame is probably it. How many Westerners even know about it?

Cynergy TK™ is another special ingredient found in some of the best skin products. Applications of it to the skin in some studies have shown a 14% improvement in skin moisture retention over 18 days.

There are numerous other ingredients to look for if you are in the market for natural topical creams for dry skin, some of which I discuss at my website. But you should not forget that it’s just as important to educate yourself on the ingredients that you need to avoid putting on your skin.

Think of it like a diet: you know that broccoli, leafy greens, and fish are healthy for you. But it’s just as important to know what kinds of foods are bad for you.

Skin moisturizers are the same way because when you topically apply something to your skin, you are literally ingesting it because your skin is porous in nature.
